Job summary
• This position is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and repair of field instrument, final control equipment and control system
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the highest environmental and safety standards

- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of Instrumentation Technician duties
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Take part in shutdown planning and execution
- Perform maintenance on instrumentation equipment
- Interpret drawings, schematics, ladder logic and wiring diagram
- Troubleshoot, PMs, cleans, repairs and replaces standard instruments
- Tunes loops as requested
- Calibrate and verify operation of remote operated valves
- Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, multi-variable controllers
- Maintain control systems for prime movers
- Troubleshoot instrument operations
- Interact with operations to troubleshoot and resolve upsets due to instrument malfunctions
- Calibrate test and fiscal equipment, quality instruments,
- Interact with engineers and supervisors to fine tune multi-variable controllers
- Review trouble log and determines if maintenance is needed
- Use SAP to locate and order parts
- Navigate equipment specification data bases
- Perform Central Control Room equipment maintenance
- Maintain a clean and well organized work area
- Attend meetings and trainings as required
- Perform special projects and miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Co-ordinate and manage in-house contractors and vendors to ensure work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees
- Oversee contractor employee activities
- Supervise the repair of equipment for completeness, correctness, quality, safety, efficiency, and documentation
- Estimate the spares required for smooth execution of the Instrument maintenance activities
- Identify non-spare stock and material/equipment needs
- Participate in the work management system implementation
- Attend in the performance evaluation process
- Participate in team safety meetings
- Other duties requested by Line Manager
- Accountable for all safety rules and regulations are followed in areas of responsibility
- Accountable for ensuring that Instrumentation Technicians understand and strictly adhere to the company processes and standards
- Accountable for Risk Mitigation factors included in all Maintenance Permits to Work
- Accountable for provision of Tool Box Talks
- Accountable for the efficient execution of work by spending sufficient time
- Accountable for the completion of the work execution schedule
- Accountable for recording relevant work order information
- Accountable for provision of required technical information for spare parts procurement
- Accountable for field instrumentation maintenance and on-line troubleshooting
- Responsible for resolving and/or escalating issues that prevent completing scheduled work
- Responsible for planning and executing High Priority work
- Responsible for looking ahead at the upcoming task schedule and ensuring proper resources are available to complete work as planned
- Responsible for creating a culture of reliability and continuous improvement
- Responsible for building proper relationship with the plant management in order to achieve common goals;
Requirements
- Functional
- Extensive years Instrumentation and Control experience in either onshore or offshore facilities of the Petrochemical Industry.
- Maintenance in Division 1, 2, 3 area, also with radioactive sources
- Extensive experience with Controller, IOMs and Field Instrument Installation, maintenance execution and testing
- Extensive experience with HART, Modbus, Profibus, Vnet/IP and other protocols
- Experience with MAXUM II, SIPROCESS GA7, OXYMAT 7, ULTRAMAT 7, COLOMAT 7
- Extensive knowledge of P&I diagrams, Logic drawings, functional blocks and sequence schematics, engineering specifications and other technical manuals
- Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of system alarms and equipment failures is required
- Extensive knowledge in scientific principles, different measuring principles, engineering fundamentals and computer technology
- Tubing installation
- Extensive experience in EX equipment installation, inspection & repair
- Measuring devices (pressure, level, flow, temperature) of different manufacturers
- Final control instruments (MOV, solenoid, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, motors and pumps, compressors and blowers) maintenance
- Fault finding and repair of instrumentation and control elements
- Field devices sensor and transmitter test and calibration, repair works
- DCS, ESD, PLC, MMS oversee loop and functional test
- Oversee and calibration of instrument via field communicator, multimeter and calibrator
- Yokogawa Centum VP / ProSafe RS / PRM, Simatic S7, RSLogix
- Windows OS and Office
- SAP GUI/Fiori
- Knowledge of Functional Safety (IEC 61508, IEC 61511) and Control System Standards (IEC 61131-3)
- Excellent understanding of safety management in processing facility, with a demonstrated personal commitment to safety
- To read and understand P&IDs, CS and Network Architecture, Logic and Wiring Diagrams
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify contamination issues (people, equipment)

- Minimum 5+ years’ experience of working in Petro-Chemical Industry
- Previous technician experience in field instrumentation maintenance
- Experience working with Third Party vendors and/or contractors
- Experience with maintenance databases and data management
- Reporting and following subordination
- Experience with maintenance planning & scheduling
- Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed
- Language skills
- Advanced knowledge of Azerbaijani and English
- Knowledge of Russian and Turkish is an asset
