Floating Teacher Assistant

The International School of Azerbaijan is looking for an experienced Teacher Assistant to work in the Early Learning Center and the Primary School to provide assistance across all grade levels (the so-called Floating TA). Successful candidate will start as soon as possible to work until 18th of June 2027.  A Floating TA, who will be working closely with students, will require patience and flexibility.  There will be support available from the Primary School faculty and administration at all times to offer assistance, training and advice.

The main responsibilities of the Floating Teacher Assistant include:

• Being able to work with children aged from 2 to 11

• Communicating with Primary Leadership to understand where support is needed

• Carrying out activities and duties assigned by the relevant teachers in the areas assigned

• Serving as a bus monitor on the student bus in the morning and afternoon when needed

• Supporting the maintenance of students’ safety, security, health and hygiene

• Reading all school communications promptly

• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with individual students and groups of students as well as with other professionals and parents

• Being informed of the learning activity that the students are involved in (purpose, task, and sequence of activities)

• Confidence to communicate in English with students and teachers

Required Characteristics

• A university degree (preferably in teaching)

• Excellent communication skills

• Fluent language abilities in English and ideally Azerbaijani and Russian
